ACUPUNCTURE

MEDICAL TONGUE & PULSE DIAGNOSIS: Ahhhh....! 👅

ACUPUNCTURE: Is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine used in healing for over 2,500 years.  It is the insertion and manipulation of thin needles into the body for the prevention, cure, or correction of a malady, illness, injury, pain, or other conditions or disorders. It controls and regulates the flow, function, and balance of energy of the patient to restore and maintain health. Most commonly, acupuncture is known for treating pain, stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances, urinary incontinence, digestive problems, addiction, osteoarthritic pain, fibromyalgia, and migraines (and so much more). Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to promote the body's natural healing abilities, and it releases natural endorphins. Acupuncture holds in high regard the importance of physical, emotional, and spiritual lifestyle balance.

Acupuncturists observe and palpate (touch) the body a LOT! We are searching for signs that say something is out of balance. It guides our treatment plan. We observe temperate changes, dryness, oiliness, roughness, lumps, bumps, smells, coloration, pain, and emotions as we work.

MICRO NEEDLING: 12 compact needles at 18,000+ RPMs. The minimally invasive, and minimal pain, procedure stimulates collagen and minimizes scars, acne, large pores, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks [NO Vitamin-C, Retinoids, AHA, or BHA for 3-4 weeks before or after!]

NANO NEEDLING: 81 compact silicone "needle" heads. The non-invasive transdermal procedure plumps and rejuvenates skin tone, treats uneven texture, fine lines, tightens, lifts, and sculpts [NO Vitamin-C, Retinoids, AHA, or BHA for 3-4 weeks before or after!]

COSMETIC FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE: Uses localized individual needles. Releases tense muscles, recalibrates muscle memory, relieves headaches, and reduces stress, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles

NO NEEDLE ACUPUNCTURE: Shoni-Shin (tap, brush, scratch tools), for needle-sensitive and pediatric patients

ACUPRESSURE: Localized pressure to control or alleviate pain and increase endorphins

AURICULAR (EAR) ACUPUNCTURE

A Micro System

Pain. Addiction. Mental Health. Trauma.

🔺NADA: Drug detox, opioid addiction, stress, anxiety, trauma, and improves overall mental well-being.

This protocol addresses the detox process while supporting overall well-being, plus:

  • Reduced cravings for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine
  • Minimized withdrawal symptoms
  • Increased calmness, better sleep, and less agitation
  • Relief from stress and emotional trauma
  • An easier connection with counseling
  • A discovery of inner quiet and strength

🇺🇸BATTLEFIELD: (Semi-permanent darts with magnetic stimulation): Regulates Acute/Chronic pain, commonly used in conjunction with Western modalities to reduce opioid use, improves sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves overall mental well-being. In instances where pain medication isn't advisable, Auricular (Ear) acupuncture sees an 80% reduction in pain relief without drugs with Battlefield Acupuncture, using gold needles.

We are each unique. This protocol typically lasts two weeks (or until the dart needles fall out). Sometimes all it takes is one treatment. Sometimes we need to build treatments every 2 weeks until the goal is met.

CUPPING

Fire, Sliding, and Stationary Cupping

Fire Cupping in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is used to improve blood circulation and promote healing.
It drains excess fluids and toxins, loosens adhesions and revitalizes connective tissue, increases blood flow to skin and muscles, stimulates the peripheral nervous system, reduces pain, controls high blood pressure, and modulates the immune system.

(This modality may leave superficial red marks and circles on the surface of the skin for 1-10 days)

MOXIBUSTION

Mugwort

The burning of the Chinese herb Mugwort (Ai Ye - Folium Artemisia Argyi) produces near and far infrared radiation. It penetrates deeply into skin tissues. Also, it:

  • Modulates neurotransmitters
  • Promotes cell growth
  • Changes blood flow
  • Improves gut function
  • Enhances the body's immune system response
  • Localized ailments recovery
  • Opens meridians
  • Regulates the body's internal balance of Yin and Yang energies

NEAR-Infrared: The burning of moxa emits NIR radiation with a peak near 1.5 μm and a range of 0.8 to 5.6 μm. This radiation can penetrate the skin by about 10 mm, reaching deeper tissues.

FAR-Infrared: Moxibustion also emits far-infrared rays that have a penetration power that's 3 to 4 times greater than ordinary infrared rays.

(In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the skin is burnt and a scar is produced. We do not practice scarring Moxa, but the area may turn red or blister to promote healing)

GUA SHA

Scraping Skin Tool

Improve circulation, reduce inflammation, break up fascia, and relieve pain.

(This modality may leave superficial red marks on the surface of the skin for 1-7 days)

Gua Sha is traced back to the Paleolithic Age where hands or stones were rubbed on various parts of the body to alleviate pain and/or symptoms when people felt sick or became unconscious. It was also widely used as a form of treatment during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) by the ancient Chinese

TUI NA (pronounced “twee nah”)

MASSAGE

Used as a therapeutic form of massage in China for over 5,000 years.

The session timings may vary depending on the patient’s needs and condition. Clients remain clothed, wearing loose clothing. Tui na methods can include soft tissue massage, manipulation, and acupressure in conjunction with herbal compresses, ointments, liniments, and heat. The best part of the therapy is that it relaxes as well as energizes the person. The main benefit of Tui Na massage is that it focuses on the specific problem, whether it is an acute or chronic pain associated with the joints, muscles, or skeletal system. This technique is very beneficial in reducing the pain of the neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, highs, legs, and ankle disorders. It is a very effective therapy for arthritis, pain, sciatica, and muscle spasms. Other benefits of this massage therapy include the alleviation of stress-related disorders like insomnia, constipation, headaches, and other disorders related to the digestive, respiratory, and reproductive systems.

TAI QI

Therapeutic Movement Exercise

Its name is derived from the philosophical term, “Tai Chi,” the first known written reference of which appeared in the Book of Changes over 3000 years ago during the Zhou Dynasty (1100-1221 BC). In this book, it says that “in all changes exists Tai Chi, which causes the two opposites in everything.”

Tai Chi is one of the best-known martial arts of the Internal systems from ancient China. Based on Qigong and martial arts techniques from thousands of years ago.

It is characterized by contrasting and complimentary movements-slow and soft versus fast and hard. It contains explosive power and low stances. Tai Chi, also known as Shadow Boxing, is one of the major branches of traditional Chinese martial arts.

The essential principles of Tai Chi are based on the ancient Chinese philosophy of Taoism, which stresses the natural balance in all things and the need for living in spiritual and physical accord with the patterns of nature. According to this philosophy, everything is composed of two opposite, but entirely complementary, elements of yin and yang, working in a relationship that is in perpetual balance. Tai Chi consists of exercises equally balanced between yin and yang, which is why it is so remarkably effective.

QI GONG (pronounced "chee-gung")

"Where the mind goes, Qi flows"

About 1122 B.C., The Book of Change (I Ching) first recorded the concept of "Qi" or vital energy.

There are numerous Qi Gong styles, schools, traditions, forms, and lineages that have distinct approaches and philosophies, but all are based upon Qi (“subtle breath” or “vital energy”) and Gong (“skill cultivated through regular practice”).

With roots in the Chinese culture, Qi Gong was first documented in Taoist writings in 600 AD. Qi Gong was originally described in the earliest texts as Tuna, or breath exercises, and Dao Yin, or exercise postures. It was also used in Taoism as a way of attempting physical and spiritual immortality.

Qi Gong Techniques & Principles:

Specific Movements & Forms

  • For Example: Five Animal Frolics (stretching and lunging movements in the Tiger exercise set)

Breathwork: Deep Breathing

Standing Postures: For example, when practitioners maintain specific arm positions for an extended period, they often experience a noticeable warmth in the shoulders, a tangible sign of increased Qi accumulation in that area. Upon relaxing the shoulders, this surplus energy redirects itself to regions within the body where energy levels are comparatively lower, aiming to restore equilibrium and optimize Qi flow. This interaction showcases how intentional posture adjustments can significantly influence the movement and balance of energy within the body's energetic network.
